Missing your garden greens? OK, so you are into local and seasonal food, or want to be - what do you do during the winter?

Learn to sprout and grow trays of microgreens that do not require lots of light that are super nutrient dense, fresh and affordable. Take starter trays and 'the kombucha mother' home with you. Please bring your own sterilized jars or purchase beautiful bottles appropriate for fermewntation and storage.

Learn to grow sunflower, pea and alfalfa sprouts in your own home. All you need is a sunny window. In this class we will plant a tray of sunflower seeds, a tray of pea greens, and a jar of alfalfa sprouts, while you munch on some that are ready to harvest. Take your trays home, water them and in a week you will be munching on your own!

We will also make Kombucha, a great tasting fermented tea beverage with many medicinal benefits, that you can easily make at home. Once you know this simple procedure for making and refining kombucha, and you have the scoby (or mother), you will be able to continue making the kombucha of your choice year round. Very delicious and can be consumed daily as well as served as a very special aperitif for dinner parties.

These workshops are deliberately designed to be low tech, home and small farm -scale and emphasize hands-on-learning so that you can easily incorporate these skills into your routine. All demonstrations will send you home with lots of information and samples, when possible. Please peruse the entire schedule - you may want to take more than one!
